    Tips for PMP Exam Preparation

For me, the most difficult part of each exam is always the concept questions, and the silly distinction is not clear. Lao Yuan compiled a summary of the concepts commonly tested in the PMP exam

01 PMP Exam  pmp certification online  Frequently Asked Concept Summary

     01 Delphi Technology

Delphi technology is a way to organize experts to agree. Project experts participated anonymously. Organizers use questionnaires to solicit input on important project topics, then summarize experts’ responses and feed back the results to experts for further comment. After a few rounds of this process, an agreement may be reached. Delphi technology helps mitigate data bias and prevent any individual from having an undue impact on the results. A few keywords: expert, anonymous, multi-round, consistent. 02 Sensitivity analysis

Sensitivity analysis helps determine which risks have the greatest potential impact on the project. It helps to understand how changes in project goals relate to changes in various uncertainties. Fix all other uncertainties at the baseline value and examine the extent to which changes in each factor affect the target. A typical manifestation of sensitivity analysis is a tornado plot. 03 Monte Carlo Simulation

A process that simulates hundreds or thousands of possible outcomes based on the probability distribution of the cost and progress of a single task, and then applies those results to generate a probability distribution at the overall level of the project.

     04 RACI

A common type of responsibility allocation matrix that uses words such as execution, responsibility, consultation, and knowledge to define the participation status of stakeholders in project activities. 05 Rolling planning

An iterative planning technique that details the work to be completed in the near term and only roughly plans for the long-term work. 06 Trend Analysis

Examine how project performance has changed over time to determine whether performance is improving or deteriorating. Graphical analysis techniques help to understand current performance and compare it with future target performance, expressed as completion date. 07 Expected currency value analysis

A statistical technique for calculating average results when certain situations may or may not occur in the future. Commonly used in decision tree analysis.

02 Five Phases of Team Building 01 Formation Phase

In this phase, team members get to know each other and understand the project and their formal roles and responsibilities in the project. Team members tend to be independent of each other and are not necessarily open and honest. 02 Oscillation phase

At this stage, the team begins to work on projects, making technical decisions and discussing project management methods. If team members can’t approach different perspectives and opinions with a cooperative and open attitude, the team environment can backfire.

    03 Specification stage

During the specification phase, team members begin to work together and adjust their work habits and behaviors to support the team, and team members begin to trust each other.

    04 Maturity stage

After entering this stage, the team works like an organized unit. Team members rely on each other to solve problems smoothly and efficiently.

    05 Dissolution phase

During the dissolution phase, the team completes all the work and the team members leave the project. Usually, people are released and the team is disbanded after the project deliverables have been completed, or the team is disbanded during the process of closing the project or phase.

PMP is a professional certification for project management, which has no industry restrictions. From the perspective of project management, projects are everywhere, only size. Learning project management is actually learning a way of thinking and method of doing things. Project management is common in all kinds of occupations and jobs. The PMP exam is to test our approach to project management. The way of proposition is to give us an assumption of a general project situation. As project managers, we make decisions under such circumstances.

Based on the sixth edition of PMBOK, the knowledge points come from the five major process groups and ten major knowledge areas. There are four PMP exams a year (this year’s epidemic, only one exam will be held in the first half of the year), respectively in March, June, and September , December, usually the penultimate weekend at the end of the month. In fact, the process of preparing for the PMP exam itself is a project management practice involving scope management (read which books, do Which exercises), schedule management (making a learning schedule), resource management (energy and time allocation, etc.), procurement (whether you want to report to the training class), risk management (if work conflicts with review, what to do)…because of the previous In the experience of doing projects at work, I can combine some knowledge points with past work and reflect on what I can do better in the past, whether it is communication or the establishment of a knowledge and experience manual (Speaking of this, wrong question set Very, very important!), and even the management of related parties.

In addition, project management is not only a means and skill, but also a kind of thinking, just like the systematic thinking we often say. In the past, we tended to look at individuals separately and think about the solution of problems, but now, everyone is increasingly considering them as a whole from

the perspective of the system. And now everything I encounter can be managed as a project. One of the benefits is that the phenomenon of “three-minute enthusiasm” can be reduced to a certain extent, because you have learned to plan before doing it, knowing the time and energy you have to invest, the risks you have to bear, etc., and you will consider more thoroughly and decide Slower-“Slowly think fast”.

Of course, the biggest and greatest gain is not just the learning of this knowledge, this kind of thinking change, but also the friends from all walks of life made here. After the PMP exam, everyone is encouraging each other to continue learning and sharing the next learning plan with each other. It is truly a “learning community”. This period of friendship is precious and rare. I hope that every comrade-in-arms struggling on PMP and every student studying at SPOTO can gain more growth in 2021 and have the wisdom, confidence and courage to face all difficulties and setbacks!

Before I got the results, I was actually mentally prepared-this period of learning experience is the most precious, I challenged my self-discipline, and persisted until the end was the coolest! !

Finally, when I informed everyone of the results of my PMP exam, many friends came to me and said, “Actually, I wanted to take the PMP certificate a long time ago, but my colleague kept telling me that it was useless.” For this situation , I just want to say that what is really useful is not the PMP certificate, but the effort you have made in the process of obtaining the PMP certificate, as well as the knowledge and thinking you have learned.

Today’s sharing is here, have you learned
