The Current Georgia President of FCCLA
Bryna McKenzie is the current National Vice President of Membership from Georgia ¹. She has been involved in FCCLA for over eight years, holding several leadership positions, including Chapter Vice President of Membership, Chapter President, State Vice President of Membership, and State Vice President of Programs. Bryna has participated in all eight National Programs through projects and advocacy efforts. Beyond her involvement in FCCLA, Bryna enjoys spending time with friends, playing girls’ Varsity Tennis, serving as Captain of Color Guard, and competing in debate. She is also actively engaged in her community, regularly meeting with local businesses to promote FCCLA.
Future Plans
After high school, Bryna plans to attend the University of Georgia (UGA) to pursue a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Her goal is to continue spreading awareness about FCCLA and its benefits.
What is FCCLA?
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a national nonprofit career and technical student organization for young men and women in family and consumer sciences education through grade 12 and postsecondary students ². FCCLA offers intra-curricular resources and opportunities for students to pursue careers that support families. The organization was founded in 1945 and currently has over 244,000 student members and more than 7,300 chapter advisers across 5,300 chapters.
Mission and Purpose
FCCLA’s stated purpose is “To promote personal growth and leadership development through family and consumer sciences education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for life through: character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation ².”
