Revamped Bloodline is an interactive fiction game where you play as a vampire, with the goal of surviving the onslaught of your vampiric enemies. Throughout the course of 20 days, you will have to make important decisions that will affect how you survive. You can check in at any time and go back to previous days if you feel like something has been missed or forgotten. You begin by choosing a character, selecting from one of six available identities: a hulk named Ben, an artistic teen named Bo, an awkward nerd named Ethan, a jock named Hunter, or a mean girl named Mallory. Each identity comes with their own stat point bonuses and special advantages. You then are dropped into the middle of the vampire war between two rivaling houses – The Vassago and The Von Helsing clans – in which both want to see you dead!
The gameplay of Revamped Bloodline will feel familiar to those who have played a classic text-based adventure game. Each day, you will be presented with certain choices that will affect your outcome. At the end of each day, you will be given a score, as well as the option to go back and revisit previous days with new choices that you may have missed or forgotten about. Additionally, Revamped Bloodline will be filled with puzzles, mini games, and secret collectibles. More information about these can be found further down the page.
The 20 Days of Revamped Bloodline
At the outset, players are given 20 days to survive. This can be done by playing as many days consecutively, or by taking breaks and coming back to the game at a later time. At the end of each day, you will be given an overall score based on your choices throughout that day. If you didn’t particularly make a bad decision, you will be given a “mild warning,” and if you made poor decisions, you will be given a “severe warning.” If you make bad decisions enough, you may be given a “game over,” ending where you are killed and forced to start over from day 1.
Your Choices & Their Consequences
While you may be able to survive a day unscathed by making wise choices, you may want to make some poor decisions just to see what would happen. Keep in mind that these decisions only carry over to that day, they do not affect future days. You will have to choose between two rivaling houses, The Vassago and The Von Helsing clans, both of which wish to see you dead. Your choices will have a direct impact on which house will be more willing to help you. If you decide to side with The Vassago, The Von Helsing will have less reason to help you. If you side with The Von Helsing, The Vassago will be more likely to seek your destruction. You will also be given the option to choose a side in a feud between two Vampires. The outcome of these feuds depends on the day you decide to make your decision. If you pick a side that is losing the feud, it will almost always end in your death.
