    The Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made it mandatory to have the following vaccinations done before entering the region.

    • Yellow Fever Vaccination

    According to the 2005 International Health Regulations, all pilgrims travelling from countries or areas affected by yellow fever or at a higher risk of the disease must be vaccinated against it. Before travelling to the country, you must have a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate. The vaccination must be at least ten days and a maximum of 10 years old. 

    • Meningococcal Meningitis 

    All the visitors travelling from any region to Saudi Arabia for Umrah or Hajj must have a vaccination certificate against Meningococcal Meningitis. This vaccination must be a minimum of 10 days and a maximum of 3 years old. 

    • Poliomyelitis 

    The Polio vaccine is necessary for countries with polio-endemic and re-established transmission countries. Every person travelling from these regions must have a dose of oral polio vaccine regardless of age. 

    • Seasonal Influenza

    It is also recommended that you must have a vaccination against seasonal influenza. Especially children under 5, the elderly, pregnant women, and people with other underlying health issues must get this vaccination no matter what. The Saudi Ministry of Health also recommends that internal pilgrims get this vaccination along with the workers in the Hajj or Umrah premises. 

    • Coronavirus 

    All the pilgrims travelling to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj or Umrah must have coronavirus vaccination too. Usually, most people already have it because of the compulsion of this vaccination in most regions of the world.

    • Stay Hydrated

Make sure that you carry a water bottle or other liquids with you while you are performing the Umrah rituals or travelling around the holy cities. 

    • Keep Your Medicines with You
