Audi RS E-Tron GT

As you’ve probably already guessed, the idea of electrifying the German brand’s E-Tron SUV and RS4/RS5 models (in the near future) was merely the start of something much, much bigger. Audi will apparently enter the newly-created sector of performance cars with this take on the SUV/Crossover, a rather conventional three-row SUV that slots in above the Q8 in the company’s SUV family. Despite its large footprint, the Audi RS E-Tron GT promises to be a little more than the sum of its parts.

Meeting the 15-minute Nürburgring time of its Quattro brother will require some serious adjustments from the Audi RS E-Tron GT, but its upgraded electric motors will surely help.

Design of the car

What has always been the thing in the automotive world that Audi is known for? Sounds like a crime against all things automotive. Don’t get me wrong, Audi makes excellent sedans. The A4, A5 and A6 are brilliant all-rounders, but the German carmaker has always stood for excitement. Its stand-out model is the TT, a car which has in recent times been copied by countless automakers and many are even seeking to include it in their portfolio.

Nonetheless, Audi is in a good mood. And the upcoming Audi RS E-Tron GT might very well be the sign that Audi is finally taking its roots in the electrification game more seriously.

The RS E-Tron GT, essentially an all-electric A6, shares its underpinnings with the Porsche Taycan, so it’s not going to be the lightest vehicle on the planet.

Performance of the car

The Audi RS E-Tron GT is an electric and high-performance mid-engine sports car. The RS E-Tron GT comes with the latest technology and first-ever in its segment technology features that include digitalization, laser light headlamps with dynamic signature and standard LED Matrix headlights.

On the exterior, the car gets the high-performance matte black 20-inch wheels with high-performance braking system and 21-inch high-performance rear wheel wheels with Audi Sport design package. The dynamic RS Dynamic package also includes lightweight ceramic brakes with red calipers as standard. The dynamic RS suspension with stiffer springs, RS steering rack and dynamic engine mounts are also included. The dynamic RS carbon-ceramic brake disc with brake calipers are optional.

Safety of the car

The automotive company Audi claims its new Audi RS E-Tron GT is ‘the safest car on the market’ and the specifications revealed at the Las Vegas event bear this out, with top-notch safety equipment like four-wheel drive and the ability to drive automatically in certain situations.

Most of these tricks are pretty standard fare, but the one that has Audi fans raising their eyebrows is the vehicle’s Level 3 autonomous driving system. This means that the Audi RS E-Tron GT, which is an electric four-seater coupe, can take control and drive itself in certain circumstances.

Car has a large battery pack to provide efficiency and range

If you like hot hatches and you like Audi, this has been an interesting announcement to have for you. Now I am sure that you’ve all heard about this, and are waiting to see what’s all this is about, in a good way.

Audi RS E-Tron GT Concept

Today we’re delighted to announce that we are bringing you the first proper look of the Audi RS E-Tron GT, as a concept study. It’s just been announced and it’s a concept at this stage but it should give us some pretty good clues as to what to expect from the final product. Audi is planning on launching the RS E-Tron GT in late 2020, and we already have some details that give us some indication of what it’ll be like.

The main points that we are going to discuss are that it’ll be a 590 hp, 590 lb ft electric vehicle and a GT sport.

The RS E-Tron GT is completely wrapped in carbon fibre — a key differentiator between it and other luxury rivals Audi is facing competition from Tesla. When Audi goes on sale in 2022, it will go head-to-head with the Model S and Model X — premium electric cars from the California company. The car’s lithium-ion batteries pack have enough juice for 500 kilometres (310 miles) of driving before recharging, depending on the model’s specification.
