IMPORTANCE OF WORKWEAR IN THE WORKPLACE

Personal protection is needed in hard workplaces and must be worn to protect workers from work-related injuries and accidents. The risk of injuries is reduced by this protective equipment and the users should know how to use the equipment properly, why and when it is needed, how to wear and remove them and their limitations.

Even if the workers are provided with high safety measures there is still a risk to them. Workers work with close contact with chemical substances like ultraviolet, acids and extreme temperatures can lead to skin diseases like burns, skin cancer or irritation. Loose or tight outfits can lead to bodily damage like sprained wrist, broken bones and ankles. Thus, it becomes essential to wear clothing that fits them properly.

Every employer needs to provide safety wear to protect their staff from carrying out tasks in a high-risk environment. However, providing the workers with protective work wear does not overcome the risk but helps the employees to be as comfortable and productive as they can be.

  4. Respiratory Protection – People think that RPE (Respiratory Protective Equipment) is a multi-purpose mask and is designed for respiratory protection in various industries. The mask protects the users from inhaling airborne contaminants that cannot be seen with our eyes and often go unnoticed. The respirators only prevent contaminants from entering and you should have proper oxygen to support life.
  5. Protective Clothing – Protective clothing and workwear are available in various sizes, shapes, materials and weights. Selection of the cloth depends on the type of task a person is involved in and sees if he is involved inadequately protected environment.
