Business Write for Us: 7 Rules That Get Your Guest Post Published on Businesstomark

Want to write for us? Here are the 7 rules, 16 accepted categories and 3 simple steps to publish your business guest post on Businesstomark for $25.

Most guest post pitches fail for boring reasons. Wrong niche. Thin content. A link that has nothing to do with the article. An editor who never replies. If you’ve ever spent a week chasing a “write for us” page only to hear nothing back, you know exactly how frustrating it is.

We built the Businesstomark Write for Us page to remove that guesswork. No pitch emails, no waiting for approval on an outline, no hidden fees. You submit a finished article, pay a flat $25, and your post goes live on a business, marketing and tech news site that publishes fresh content every day.

This guide explains everything you need to know before you submit: which topics we accept, the seven rules every article must follow, what we don’t publish, and the exact three steps from draft to live post. Read it once and your first submission should go through without a single back-and-forth.

Why Write for a Business Website at All?

Guest posting is still one of the most practical ways to build visibility online, but only when the site and the article actually fit together. A well-placed business guest post can help you:

  • Reach a new audience of founders, marketers, small business owners and professionals who already read business content.
  • Build your personal or brand authority by putting your name next to genuinely useful advice.
  • Send referral traffic to a relevant resource, product or service page.
  • Grow a portfolio of published work you can show to clients or employers.

The key word is relevant. A good guest post is written for readers first. If an article is only there to carry a link, readers notice, editors notice, and search engines notice too. That’s why our rules are built around usefulness, not just word count.

Who Should Submit a Guest Post to Businesstomark?

Our “business write for us” page is open to anyone with real knowledge to share. We regularly publish work from:

  • Small business owners and startup founders sharing lessons learned
  • Digital marketers, SEO specialists and content strategists
  • Freelance writers building a portfolio
  • Tech reviewers and software professionals
  • Legal, insurance and finance professionals writing general educational content
  • Agencies publishing on behalf of their clients

You don’t need a famous name. You need a clear topic, an original article and a reader in mind.

The 7 Rules Every Guest Post Must Follow

These are the same rules our own writers follow. Meet all seven and your article is ready to submit.

1. Write at Least 700 Words

700 words is the minimum, not the target. Most articles that genuinely answer a question land between 1,000 and 1,800 words. Length alone doesn’t make an article good, but very short posts rarely have room to explain anything properly.

2. Make It 100% Original

Your article must be your own work and must not be published anywhere else, including your own blog or LinkedIn. We don’t accept spun, scraped or copy-pasted content. The submission form includes an originality checkbox, and ticking it is your confirmation that the work is original.

A note on AI tools: Using AI to brainstorm or check grammar is fine. Submitting unedited AI output is not. Add your own experience, examples, numbers and opinions. That’s what makes an article worth reading.

3. Use at Least Two Subheadings

Readers scan before they read. Break your article into clear sections with H2 and H3 subheadings, and use bullet points or numbered lists where they help. Short paragraphs of two to four sentences work best on mobile.

4. Include 1–2 Relevant Links

Each guest post can include one or two links, either to your own site or to a helpful external resource. The link should:

  • Fit naturally inside a sentence, not be bolted onto the end
  • Use descriptive anchor text, not “click here”
  • Point to a page that’s directly related to the article topic
  • Use HTTPS and load without errors

Paid and sponsored links on the web should be marked properly. Google explains how publishers should label these links in its guide on qualifying outbound links, and we follow that guidance to keep both your link and our site in good standing.

5. Add a Featured Image

Every post needs a featured image in JPG, PNG or WebP format. The recommended size is 1200 × 675 pixels. Use an image you own or have the right to use. Bright, clean images with a light background tend to stand out best on our homepage and in social shares.

6. Write for Readers, Not Just for Search Engines

Pick one main keyword and use it naturally. Don’t stuff it into every paragraph. Answer the question your reader actually has, include practical steps, and finish with a clear takeaway. Articles written this way hold up much better in search over time.

7. Stay Inside Our Accepted Niches

Your topic must fit one of the 16 categories above and must not fall into a restricted niche (see the next section). An article that breaks this rule will be removed, even after publication.

Topics We Do Not Publish

To protect our readers and keep Businesstomark a trusted business publication, we don’t accept guest posts about, or linking to:

  • CBD, cannabis or vape products
  • Cryptocurrency promotions, tokens or trading signals
  • Payday loans, instant loans or debt schemes
  • Casino, betting or gambling sites
  • Adult content or dating services
  • Pharmacy, prescription drugs or supplements making medical claims
  • Hacking tools, stolen data, “carding” or any illegal service
  • Any other grey niche, spam or misleading offer

We also remove any article where the topic is just a cover for a link to one of these niches. If you’re unsure whether your topic qualifies, ask us first through the Contact Us page before you pay.

How to Submit Your Guest Post in 3 Steps

The whole process happens on one page. No email threads, no login.

  1. Fill in the submission form. Go to the Write for Us page and enter your website, name, email address, article title and category. Upload your featured image and paste in your article text. Tick the originality box.
  2. Pay $25 via PayPal. Click “Submit Article · $25 per post”. On the next screen, complete the PayPal payment and attach your payment screenshot so we can match it to your submission.
  3. Your post goes live. Once the payment is confirmed, your article is published on Businesstomark with your chosen category.

Ordering in bulk or need a custom niche? Agencies and repeat writers can get in touch through our contact page to discuss multiple posts at once.

A Quick Pre-Submission Checklist

Before you click submit, run through this list:

  • ☐ 700+ words, original and not published elsewhere
  • ☐ Fits one of our 16 categories
  • ☐ Not in a restricted niche
  • ☐ At least 2 subheadings, short paragraphs
  • ☐ 1–2 relevant links with descriptive anchor text
  • ☐ Featured image ready (1200 × 675, JPG/PNG/WebP)
  • ☐ Proofread for spelling and grammar
  • ☐ PayPal ready and payment screenshot saved

5 Mistakes That Weaken a Guest Post

Even when an article meets the rules, these common mistakes make it less useful and less likely to bring results:

  1. A generic title. “Tips for Business” tells readers nothing. “7 Cash Flow Mistakes That Sink Small Retail Shops” tells them exactly what they’ll get.
  2. No real examples. Advice without examples sounds like every other article. Add a short case, a number or a personal lesson.
  3. A link that doesn’t fit. A link to a plumbing company inside an article about Instagram ads looks forced. Match the link to the topic.
  4. Walls of text. Long paragraphs lose readers on mobile. Break them up.
  5. No conclusion. End with a clear summary or next step so the reader leaves with something to do.
